We’ve all seen those super tiny laptops such as the EEE PC and were amazed at how such a tiny device can do so much. But when you are using one of these little computers, what are the benefits and drawbacks of using such a small piece of equipment?
Of course, the first benefit of the tiny computers is their size and light weight. Some of these computers are so small that they can easily be slung into a backpack and carried off to work or school with very little effort. Most of them are built to hold up under this kind of treatment and are amazingly tough. When you are carrying a full size laptop around in a backpack or computer bag, you will begin to feel the weight after a period of time but with a tiny computer you will hardly notice the weight at all.
If you do a lot of typing on your computer for work and school, you might find that the smaller keyboard size on these small laptops a bit difficult to work with. It will take some adjustment to train your hands to deal with the smaller keyboard but after a period of time you will most likely adjust without much effort.
Many of these small lightweight laptops do not have any drives at all so if you are a big fan of your DVD drive in your laptop, you will surely miss it on the smaller computers.
There is a definite cool factor to these smaller machines that is hard to beat with a big clunky laptop. You will have to consider what you will be giving up to get the sleek looks of these machines, but for some it is well worth the price. Machines like the EEE PC are pretty economically priced as well. That is a big consideration when you are looking for a sturdy working machine.
